LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Plenette Pierson scored 21 points, including
a game-tying shot in regulation, as No. 17 Texas Tech beat Southern
California 66-63 in overtime Monday night.

The Lady Raiders (4-0) sank 4-of-7 shots in the extra session
and outscored USC (2-1), 9-6.
Pierson's shot at the buzzer in regulation tied the score at
57-57.
USC led through the second half but was plagued with turnovers.
Texas Tech took advantage, coming within two points, 55-53. Pierson
tied the score at 55-55 with 1:44 remaining. The teams traded
baskets to tie the game in regulation.
USC led 33-26 at the half.
Pierson also grabbed 10 rebounds and Katrisa O'Neal scored 17
points for Texas Tech.
Denise Woods scored 19 points and had eight rebounds for USC.
Danielle Golay added 14 points.
