ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Blues figured Fred Brathwaite
couldn't stop them all night.

Brathwaite made 49 saves for Calgary on Tuesday night as the
Flames tied the St. Louis Blues 1-1.
"Braithwaite had a great game," Blues coach Joel Quenneville
said. "I thought eventually we've got to get something by
(Braithwaite) and we did."
Brathwaite had a shutout until the final minute, when Chris
Pronger rushed the net and batted home a rebound with 38.1 seconds
remaining to forge the tie.
"He had two whacks at it and he put it in," Braithwaite said.
"It's frustrating that we were so close to winning with 30 seconds
left in the game."
Pronger's goal came while the Blues had the extra attacker after
Blues goalie Roman Turek went to the bench.
"I was camping out in front waiting for something to happen,"
Pronger said. "It was kind of a broken play."
The Flames nearly won in overtime when Marc Savard beat Turek,
but the horn sounded before the puck crossed the goal line.
"We came within a split-second of winning the hockey game,"
said Flames coach Brian Sutter. "There's no doubt in my mind it
was not a goal."
Hnat Domenichelli gave Calgary a 1-0 lead at 11:02 of the second
period.
Flames forward Cale Hulse intercepted a pass at center ice and
fed Domenichelli who had slipped behind the Blues defense.
Domenichelli beat Turek on the stick side for his second goal of
the season.
"I'm satisfied with a point, especially after we trailed for
most of the game," Quenneville said. "We got a lot of shots and
only got one past (Braithwaite). Sometimes it felt like we were
swimming upstream."
St. Louis outshot Calgary 50-17. The 50 shots for St. Louis were
the most they have taken in a game this season.
The Flames were outshot 10-1 in the first period, tying a club
record for fewest shots in a period. The last time it happened was
Dec. 11, 1998, against Tampa Bay.
The Flames did have the best chance of the first period. Valeri
Bure skated in alone with 15 minutes left in the period but his
shot went wide.
